Commissioning is the close liaison between the NHS and local government; these two bodies operate so differently that patients can become lost in the amalgam of policies and procedures, so commissioning was formed to foster a better relationship at local and national level. Commissioning is the new bright hope in removing so-called differences between the NHS and local government to foster a much more fluid and dynamic relationship.
