The role of non-clinical finance is to ensure best value in terms of quality of service for the NHS hospital or trust. Finance has a responsibility to make sure the allocated funds are correctly controlled and managed. It is the finance manager’s role to analyse income and expenditure accounts and then present to the relevant persons or board on a monthly or quarterly basis.
